Colin's Story via www.caringbridge.org/visit/colinplaceway:
From Colin’s Family: Thank you so much to our family and friends for your love and concern for Colin and Jared, Lesley, Anna and Whitney.
About Colin: Colin is 10 years old and in 4th grade. He wrestles, plays football and lacrosse, and LOVES history, reading, and video games. He's always been full of life, has boundless energy, and is entertaining to everyone around him.
On September 2nd, Lesley took Colin to the ER after a week of worsening stomach issues. After some tests and bloodwork, the doctors let Jared and Lesley know that Colin had masses in his abdomen and some of his blood tests were off. They transferred him to a children's hospital in Cleveland where he received more tests to confirm a diagnosis. This has been shocking and devastating to everyone and seemingly came out of the blue, but we trust that Colin is in the right place and that he's getting great care.
On September 5th, Colin was officially diagnosed with Burkitt Lymphoma and began chemo the next day. He'll have 4 cycles of strong treatment while he stays in the hospital for observation and stabilization. Colin is very positive even though he's not feeling well. He's said that he'll be fine because he knows that God is taking care of him.
From Colin’s Tribe: Colin and his family will not walk this journey alone - our loving thoughts, heartfelt prayers and unconditional support will continue to be with them along the way. We created this Rally Shirt and Wrist Band to let both Colin and his family know we are behind them 100% and whatever they need, we will be there for them. Help us to show them our support by buying a T-Shirt and wear it as a symbol of hope, strength and encouragement to sporting events, around town or wherever you go! When you buy a wrist band, 100% of the proceeds will go to Colin and his family.
The T-Shirt is 50% Cotton and 50% Polyester and comes in both adult and youth sizes.
